The Dusty Strings Overture hammered dulcimer

Hi! I’m thinking about getting [see thread-title] sometime*. Thing is, I don’t know how it sounds. I’ve searched YouTube, but have been unsuccessful :frowning:
Anyone here who knows where to find a sample? And to you who might own one: is it a good instrument?


*= probably won’t happen in a while since I’ll be getting my set of uilleann pipes soon :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t know much about their dulcimers, but I can tell you that Dusty Strings harps are excellent and well-made instruments. The company has a very good reputation, and I can personally attest to their customer service.

Yeah, I’ve seen their harps. Quite the masterpieces! I was actually interested in their 26 stringed Ravenna before I fell in love with the hammered dulcimer. :smiley: However, the only Dusty Strings hammered dulcimers I’ve heard samples of are the models D10 and D45 (it was the sound of the D10 that made me “fall in love”, but it only has 2½ 8ves, and the 3 8ve D45 is too expensive for me :cry: ). Seems like the Overture model is rare to find samples of :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t know if I’ve seen that model, but my associate is a Dusty Strings dealer, and the fit, finish, and attention to detail on all their stuff is top-notch.
