The Drools

I have a semi gross question. I have been playing a lot lately and a lot of tunes in the higher ocatves. For some reason now, I drool worse than a baby when i start to play.

I never had this problem before and the only thing I have changed was the heads on my generation.

Is this a normal thing or am I going to die from some “Mad Whistle Spore” or something? I cleaned the head with some alcohal to no avail. I am also finding this makes the whistle pretty gross on the inside too.

I am sure this has been asked before but I am gonna ask again

Hmmm, well, I believe that some anti-schizophrenia (sp?) drugs cause excessive drooling…

I have the same problem at times. I think I drool more when I drink alcohol, so I’ve cut back on that and it seems to help.

Salivation will be greatly enhanced by sipping beer or soda pop while playing. It also varies with weather/humidity, as if it is dry you won’t have nearly the problem.

However, the cheap fix is any over-the-counter antihistamine. Look for chloropheniramine in particular and only get that ingredient. You don’t need the decongestants at all, just the antihistaminic ingredient.

   MAD WHISTLE SPORE??? Could that be considered a “WTD”(whistle transmitted disease)?

Sounds pretty serious!!
