No, this is not a post about a jig with the title “The Dollar in the Mail.”
Just a little story I thought I’d share. Readers of the newsletter will recall that I’ve been doing a tongue-in-cheek fundraiser, having now asked readers twice for 87 cents. Today at my office I get an envelope from Washingston by a loyal reader who I don’t know, with a one-dollar bill enclosed and no note. Just the reader’s business card. Normally, mail to my office is opened by my secretary/accounts clerk. So she opened it and was mystified and called the sender, who turned out to be a very nice attorney in Wash. state. She explained that she could not find his account on the computer billing program and wondered if he could help her. He patiently explained to her that he was responding the the Chiff & Fipple campaign. Anyway, he left a nice message on my voice mail and I called him back and we had a nice chat.
