The gun used to shoot D’Arcy McGee, Father of Confederation, is on auction on May 22nd. Fear is that an American is gonna scoop it up (we all know how much they like their guns 
), so some Sparks Street businesses and the National Capital Irish Society are putting together a fund to buy back the infamous weapon (bidding starts at $55 000) and bring it back to Ottawa to put in the Bytown Museum where they have most of the other McGee artifacts.
