THE COTTARS

I just bought a CD by a group named The Cottars. They are a quartet from Cape Breton ranging in age from 11 to 14. They play and sing traditional music from their heritage and are multi-instrumentalists. There is some lovely whistle playing in there. Their live shows are supposed to be phenomenal. Judging from the CD, I’d say they probably are…

Great stuff!!!

You can listen to a one hour performance by clicking here and doing a search on “Cottars.”

Thanks, Jerry.

My wife and I saw The Cottars play this summer in Freeport ME. Absolutely amazing!
Must be something about Cape Breton…
They all play fiddles, whistles, piano, guitars, and sing like little angels.
Really talented group.

(They were playing Susatos BTW)

See this link if you want to hear me rave:

They are even better in person than on the CD, and their voices have matured since the CD was made (I’m assuming it’s the one made a year or so ago). Phenomenal!

I hate children.

Is that all children, or just musically gifted children?

I checked out their website and now I have to buy a CD.

I hate children.

I, on the other hand, like children, especially musically gifted ones.

Yeah - they taste better!!!

Just kidding…

I thought the Cottars were great, especially the way they handled Horschach, Vinny Barbarino and the rest of the Sweathogs.
