I was on eBay and saw that there is a guy in Quebec making whistles calle The Celtic Whistle. They are made out of CPVC. Does anyone know anything about these? Anyone tried one? His website is www.thecelticwhistle.com.

Confusing name - The Celtic Whistle Flute. The guy/girl doesn’t appear to make whistles at all, which makes the company name even more confusing. It seems odd selling everything through e-bay, but maybe that’s common, it’s just not a system I’ve used.
I can envisage this turning into one of those “Watch out - this is a dodgy maker” threads. I don’t think this maker is dodgy at all, but their site doesn’t give enough background information. The “about me” section gives some musical background, but no name, address, age etc.
The flutes look really nice, and are certainly cheap at under $30, so if they play any good they could be a good beginner level flute. Lots of positive feedback on e-bay, which in itself makes me suspicious. I guess I’m just feeling a bit cynical today.
