The Birds

Here’s some “Hitchcockian” pictures my dh made a week ago while I was at work :astonished:

From inside -
I wish he’d taken the screen down the but I guess he figured he might set them off. :imp:
This is the pasture right behind the house.

Taken from the side door-

a little to the right of the last shot-

and from the front porch, what might appear as dead leaves on that tree are really birds in the field behind-(and you can see where cold weather caught me in my garage painting project. It will eventually be all green..)

Scary.

Be careful around the turn of the tide.

That’s amazing.

Just be glad you were not wearing an owl hat.

Hope they’re not singing in the dead of night. Different species of course but same colour.

In autumn the crows start massing here in great ‘rookeries’ at sunset. The sound is deafening as the come in, the mess is incredible, and it takes a lot of effort to get them to move their chosen location. On the bright side, they don’t necessarily mass in the same places every year. Later, in spring, the roosting spots break up.

I do think that the original idea behind The Birds was this seasonal roosting phenomenon.

Also there is the swarming behavior of the starlings. Loads of fun to watch!
