I’m only 17, so I’m expecting to learn a lot from various teachers in the future. At the moment though, I can safely say that the best music teacher I’ve ever had is Paul Rapi, one of my teachers in school. He inspires us all to play so much better than we thought we could… our orchestra recently won the urdd eisteddfod.
So I would like to ask you all to help me thank him for all he’s done for me and all the other kids he’s taught be voting for him in the music teacher of the year competition -go to

and click on ‘on air’, ‘music teacher of the year’, etc. Winning would mean a lot to everybody ever taught by him.
When we wnt on tour to Paris in 1998, one day due to the heat he began to suffer from dehydration. After drinking large quantities, he needed the loo just before a concert. with the orchestra sitting ready he went into a nearby toilet block and happily urinated, not realising that there were large clear glass windows and the entire orchestra was watching him! We played a fanfare for him when he came out, but he was more embarrassed when a few months later this story was told at the Welsh school’s prom with an audience of several thousand…
Has anyone else any teacher stories they woud share?
Jo.
