The baby's here! Thanks, everyone, for the kind thoughts an

Hello, everyone! I just got home from the hospital a few minutes ago. I wanted a little normal routine after a rough few days so I checked C & F and found such lovely, warm thoughts and best wishes from everyone. You guys made me cry, seriously…you’re like a second family. Thank you so much for all the kind words and prayers in my behalf.

The baby’s doing really well and is perfectly healthy. She also has an inch of dark hair! We were so shocked because our babies are born nearly bald, usually. She’s very cute–and that’s high praise from me, because I normally don’t think newborns are that cute…all red and scrunchy and wrinkly. We still haven’t decided on a name, though my husband really likes “Nia” so we might go with that. It’s rare to find one that he likes.

The labor was about 12 hours long and quite hard, but I’m glad and relieved it’s all over now. It’s nice to be home and in a comfortable environment. I’m going to get John (my husband) to pull some pics off the camcorder and post them here, if he has time, after we get the kids to bed, so you guys can see. I just want to say again, you’re all wonderful and you don’t know how much I appreciate and was cheered up by your wonderful messages. It’s been a very long, painful, and stressful 9.5 months topped off by a rough couple of days. You’re all great!

Love,
Cees

She’s really cute, especialy for a newborn (it’s usually a while before they stop looking like wrinkled 80 year old men lol)

Like Susan I was beginning to get a little worried for you but am really glad to hear that everything turned out great and that you are home and enjoying your family.

Cheers,
Kathy

Cees, she’s beautiful!! Once again, congratulations to your whole family. I can’t wait to hear the decision on the name-- Nia is really a lovely one, though!

Oh, and you’ve sparked my baby-cravings again…my hubby will be oh-so-pleased. :stuck_out_tongue:

All the best,
Andrea ~*~

Well, it’s official…Nia is the name. My husband really likes it, and we will all get used to it in time. I think it’s pretty, just not sure if it fits her yet. Thanks for all the good suggestions a few weeks ago, everyone!

More pics coming soon…

what about a middle name?
