I just stumbled across this lovely and fascinating video from the Kanawha County Public Library. It is a 1 hr 40 min long interview with the Olwells, talking about their flute making, flute history, and featuring them playing some tunes together on various flutes.

I don’t remember seeing this posted before. Apologies if it has been. Well worth a watch!

Like in Charleston?

My family is from Chesapeake, my sister lives in Hurricane, when in town I try to attend baseball games (I miss the Alley Cats days) and rehearsals of the Kanawha Pipes & Drums (in St Albans). Though I’ve been in California many years I usually get back annually. Last summer my sister and I attended the Dublin (Ohio) Irish Festival.
