Armadillo claims first place

requires the rocket to fly for 180 seconds before landing precisely on a simulated lunar surface constructed with craters and boulders. The minimum flight times are calculated so that the Level 2 mission closely simulates the power needed to perform a real descent from lunar orbit down to the surface of the Moon. First place is a prize of $1 million

My only question is, what if it lands on a busy highway in south Texas? Armadillos have that little jump reflex when frightened. Most inconvenient when you are under a car traveling seventy miles per hour.

Yeah, I probably saw hundreds of armadillos in the four years I lived in Texas, and not a one of 'em was alive.

…an oldie but goodie…

We have loads of armadillos at work. The speed limit is very low, so they don’t have an opportunity to get run over, and they’re used to lots of people being around, so they just trundle around in the deep shade, rummaging for bugs. On cloudy days, they’ll come out in the open. That’s when you’ll hear people saying “Oh, LOOK! They’re ALIVE!!”
