Interesting list. I have a few issues with it, as anyone would I think, although probably in different places and for different reasons. But then, that’s what makes the list interesting.
Cathy in East of Eden is a monster. She’s described as such in the book. I don’t even see her as human - I don’t think Steinbeck did. Frank in The Wasp Factory is only twisted because (s)he has an evil, twisted father who drugs him/her in a deliberate attempt to prevent her having a normal life. (I hated that book.) Pinkie in Brighton Rock isn’t a child. He’s a grown, young man. Christine Hargensen is mean-spirited, but only in a normal, teenage way. Absolutely every child is dreadful in Lord of the Flies, and it’s wrong, IMO, to single one of them out (another book I hated). I don’t know quite a few of the other books.
… and the girls of St Trinian’s are not even bad at all. They’re just having fun. 
I’m glad to see that Rosemary’s Baby made the list. MY uncle Ira wrote it, which I guess makes me Rosemary’s cousin or something.
A little off-topic for this thread, but I much liked “This Perfect Day”. I’ve been known to recite the rhyme when I need to keep time for something, like exercising.
What about that match girl? Her family needs some sales income, she leaves new years night, torches the inventory, and never returns. That just seems cold.
