Just looking for info on this recording. First, what tunes are in ths set, and second, is the Star of Munster played in two differing keys? I was listening to "happy to meet… By Burke, Cooney, and Corcoran and the 6th track on second side (yes I still have a few cassettes around, rather a lot really,) is the Star of Munster, but the version that is played one time thru on pipes in the above mentioned Furey set b4 launching into the more common version.
Been listening to this for 10 plus years now and finally got around to asking.

I have only heard/played the Star of Munster in A minor. I am, sadly, unfamiliar with Ted Furey’s version…my loss.
KC, you must be the only person that has this recording(?) Who was the piper?
I’m assuming Finbar was the piper, though I think a few of the other Fureys played pipes as well. The recording was on a compilation, Festival of Irsh Folk and had sides from the Dubliners, Mary Bergin, Danny Doyle and others. 
I’m not familiar with that recording but I know for a fact that F Furey plays a version of the Star of Munster in or around the key of G because he played it in a session we had in Boston a few years ago.
Leo Rowsome also had a G minor-ish version (some f naturals in there) of it. It is notated in the recently released collection of his tunes under the title “The Munster Star”.
I was playing the same tune in a session the other day in the key of E minor which isn’t very unusual over here. Clancy played it brilliantly of course, but Ennis done it with the constraint that it requires to my ear.
