I caught their Saratoga show last night before they left for Ireland. Wonderful players all! And they actually play the tunes at dance tempos!!! Nothing at all boring about the slower pace (although they did really rip on a couple of reel sets)-- it really let you hear the tunes, not just a rush of notes.
Their flute/whistle player Damien Stenson was kind enough to noodle a bit on a few of my whistles afterwards. It’s always nice to hear them from “the other side”, and especially played by a first rate player.
I may just have to go see them again in July in Albany…

This is the Saline Celtic Festival – Paddy Keenan, Suicra, and a French-Canadian band called Genticorum are going to be there as well. (There will be workshops the night before, too.)
I’ll definitely be there – my wife and I are providing the musical backing for the English Longsword Dancing workshops.
