I use this software to make a tin whistle tablature.
I load a midi file, I take only the melody track, I tranpose the melody, I save (JPG file) and print…and play.

i use is most of the time. it’s very good for beginners. i learn by ear now, so i use it without the tablature.
I second the vote of confidence for Tab Karaoke. I use it to suss out the parts of a tune I have trouble with learning by ear, or at least the parts I have trouble with making sound right.

but you can play by ear aswell robin, be sure to click on solo track off after you’ve transposed.
