My Syn C/D combination arrived today…had to collect it from the post office and pay just over £8 customs charges which was a bit of a surprise…as was the quality of the whistle/s…The high D is just fine with a good tone…but the C…absolutely fantastic…just so mellow and so easy to play. The Syn set upC/D seems really great quality for reasonable outlay…this next week have the Dixon brass high D coming…but I really must stop now!!!Les.

Les, I have heard that people like the Syn C metal whistles the best. But that is possibly my perception

I think he’s talking about the new Brass bodied Dixon with brass tuning slide.

Yes, that’s the picture…it is the brass bodied with the brass tuning slide and I can,t wait to get it…Up until recently I had no Dixons,BUT, I got hold of the new Dixon Low D…Aluminium…and am so pleased with it I am now a Dixon convert…the low D is beautifully made…has a brass tuning slide and the Dixon black mouthpeice…more importantly the tone is lovely…in my humble opinion…and when I’m in the right mood I can really get it to sing…Ilove it. I like the Dixon tone but they don’t take enough air so I have a hard time playing them I much prefer my Alba.
Tony Dixon does do a great job on his whistles. My first whistle was a Dixon, which I still have.
