Not sure if this has been already discussed- but has anyone here tried out the new sweetheart professional model? I saw it on their website and was wondering how its different from their regular whistles… I understand that some people say that the sweethearts are not so good for Irish music but better for contradance… but anyway i was just wondering if anyone knows how differently this new professional whistle plays from the original model.
Thanks

this is the link to where I describe the prototype I have
It is a great whistle. Many of the people who say that the original Sweetheart whistle isn’t “Irish” simply didn’t like its non-straight shape. It was a little top-heavy too. The newer model is an entirely different whistle, great sound and balance.

That just kills me. I’ve seen some folks say they’d never buy one simply from the recordery looks. I guess it doesn’t matter what the thing sounds like ![]()
