sweet whistle

Hi all, this is my first time on a forum, this site was recommended to me. I have a pretty much unused Sweet or Sweetheart D whistle, possibly rosewood, serial number 6043. It was an unwanted gift, rather than it sit around not being played, I wondered if there was anyone out there who’d like to offer me something for it. I have had it valued and it is in perfect condition

Hi Jakann,

As the design of the Sweetheart whistles changed so much over time, a picture and a date of purchase would very helpful for anybody interested in the whistle.

better yet, learn to play it. All of the Sweets are very nice instruments, and whistle playing is a blast. You can learn the basics pretty quickly and have more fun and satisfaction than you can imagine.

i play tenor, alto and suprano sax, also a bit of fiddle. I’ve had this whistle for a while, so if i’ve not had the time or inclination to plat it by now, i don’t think i ever will. I don’t think instruments should be ornaments, so i’d rather it went to someone who’d appreciate it.

Hi folk312,
thanks for your reply, can you tell me how to upload photos.

To upload photos, you need to use a hosting site such as photobucket or the like and ‘share’ the photos. There are instructions around here some place … now, where did I put them? …

Ah, here we go:

https://forums.chiffandfipple.com/t/guide-to-posting-images/22873/1

Here is the info on the FAQ section, but if you are not tech savvy, it’s hard to know where to start

Can I post images?
Yes, images can be shown in your posts. If the administrator has allowed attachments, you may be able to upload the image to the board. Otherwise, you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. > http://www.example.com/my-picture.gif> . You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor images stored behind authentication mechanisms, e.g. hotmail or yahoo mailboxes, password protected sites, etc. To display the image use the BBCode [img] tag.

What I do is post my images on Flickr and look at the page’s source code. The regular ‘share’ option on Flickr never works for me. But if you don’t know what the source code of a webpage is, this won’t be of any help to you.

The easiest and often used solution you have is to offer to send images by email to anybody interested in the whistle.

Good luck, Folkert

if you click on the picture,
select (from Actions) “View all sizes”,
click on the size you want,
you should be able to right click on it to get the URL

you can also do what I just did to allow clicking on the small picture here to take them to a larger version

I have listed whistle on ebay with some pictures, i also inherited a saltarelle connemara 2 and a fyrelyre harp if any ones interested in them. The harps on ebay, the melodeon will be in a couple of days.

linky???

The OP listed the whistle on Ebay.co.uk.

That’s one of the old models. Some people find them sort of recorderish, but they’re really very nice sweet sounding whistles (no pun intended).

thanks for uploading photo folk312
