Surnai (Chuvash)?

Miracles do happen - even I found a bagpipe I never ever heard of before - on the CD “Mother Volga”, a collection of Volga-Ugric music (Mari and Chuvash): The SURNAI.
Unfortunately (or maybe not that unfortunately since it’s played together - or rather against! - a Chuvash Shopor with a tonal difference of a 2nd!!! :boggle: ), the track is only 25 seconds long (short). It’s a re-issue of a 1950 recording of ethnic music from the UssR - just like the small photo (2inches x 1,5), where one of three musicians holds such a Surnai, and You see it slightly from the side. Informations of the liner-notes are not clear - some may be lost in translation from Chuvash to Russian, then 50yrs later to English: It says: “Triple-chantered”, “triple-chantered with drone” and “three pipes”. Considering the photo and the recording, only the last description seems correct: You see a small bagpipe with a bend mouthpiece, a wooden chanterstock with almost a 90 degree bend and a decorated hornbell, and two drones with metal-fittings - a tenor on the left arm, and what seems to be a soprano on the right.

I didn’t find anything else on the internet - does anyone know more (or know anyone, who might know more) about it?
Thanx in advance!

Can you download a scan of it? Or upload or whatever.
Is it anything like this:

It’s a blog account of a folk festivalover that way. Don’t worry about the language, the blog doesn’t add any significant info about the instruments.

No, these are the “normal”, droneless, Shuvyr-type bagpipes You’d expect to see at Mari and Chuvash. The Surnai had two drones, one on the right arm and one on the left.

Cord, thanks for the scan.
It’s all the more astonishing because on a Russian bagpipe forum there was a bit of a thread on these kind of pipes, and a guy from right there, being Chuvash himself, replied to someone quoting from some book that he never ever came across any mention, let alone a real example, of Chuvash or related types with a separate drone. The guy unfortunately faded away from the forum since, but I’ll post the pic there, and maybe get some answers to this.
