Super Glue Reed Fix Brought Back my Back D

I wrote another post on my blog about how I over sanded AND then cracked my reed (that I made). It ruined the Back D. But applying some super glue brought it back.

Note that I am a beginner. This we reed #6 for me.

While I had read about fixing a crack with super glue it did not occur to me what the effects of a crack might be and how some glue might fix it.

um, I tried something like this. . .sort of. Once I over scraped the top of the reed and had the back D go off. A couple of drops of thick super glue, several days to cure and a little judicious scraping and I got the back D to come in again. No idea if it would work for anyone else but. . .The area glued was up at the ‘V’ end of the scrape.
