Nah…looks like a close up of a CD, being held up near a blazing fire. (scratches and all, Jeez wasn’t the world sucked in when CD’s were promoted as scratch proof!! They are worse than vinyl)
First generation CDs really did attempt to be scratch-proof. Costs soon proved prohibitive, and CDs weren’t breaking the LP and cassette markets as was originally expected, so they needed to get the prices down.
