I was watching the new Star Wars III trailer yesterday. Pretty cool but hey I’m a self confessed special effects whore anyway As it is streaming it cannot be saved through the offered links at the official Star Wars website. The movie doesn’t get saved in the browser cache so it cannot be copied from there. Source code from the webpage points to a very small .mov file that is only the gateway for streaming it. However if said quicktime file is opened with Notepad it shows that the real file (31.2MB) is here. Why they bother making it such a PITA to have the file is beyond me. :roll:
Thanks for trying to help, Tony. But if you re-read my post you will see I already have the source file which is not rednalob_480_r_dl.mov (156 bytes). If you open that Quicktime file with Notepad it shows that it is pointing to http://pdl.stream.aol.com/aol/us/moviefone/movies/2004/lucasfilm/hyperspace/rednalob_480_dl.mov (notice the dropped “_r”) which I posted as a link with the word “here”. I just wanted to rant a bit and give people the link I found so they would not have to go through the same BS if they too wanted the source file for the trailer.

P.S. BTW, would you mind editing your first post and cutting back the link that is soooo bloody long that (at least in my browser) the page is stretched to over twice the width of the screen size I am using (1024x768)? Thanks
I dislike that as well. Some of the Real Player file formats do the same thing. I’m surprised your browser doesn’t automatically screenwrap the long link.
