strange Whistle Technique

Greetings!
Ive been playing whistles now since September and some weeks ago i listend to a song called Sidhenearlahi Set (live verison) of Omnia.
Since that moment ive been trying to play that technique.
Well, i failed, but i found a video on youtube (1:31), where that techniqe is called “humming” or something like that.
How can I play like that?

Umm. Is this a serious question? Who doesn’t know how to hum?

Anyway, I’ll bite. Humming is like singing, only without words. Just using the vocal chords, and not using the mouth to form words. Essentially, one is recreating melody.

The gentleman in the video is merely humming while playing. When humming, the air must go somewhere, and he’s just sending that air into the whistle.

Should have checked the dictionary
Thanks for the anwser

Weird.. I just discovered how to do that from scratch the other day.
Basically I was fooling around with the whistle and play it like a kazoo for a minute. Then a few more minutes. Its an interesting effect, even if my sister disagrees. Doesn’t quite work if the entire song is like that, but to provide an interesting batch of notes seems to work. Nice thing is that it doesn’t mind if its in the first or second octave.
