A little while back, I posted the observation that of our 1832 registered members of the board, 302 had never posted. Several of these registered lurkers revealed themselves after that post.
I just checked again, and found of the (now) 2072 registered members, 340 have never posted. Since this phenomenon puzzles me, I looked down the list of zero posters and found several famous folks listed.
For example, Ralph Sweet has registered and never posted, as has someone calling himself “fifer”, who I believe might be the amazingly awesome fifer John Benoit (the clue was in the e-mail address). sawisely of Guangzhou, China has registered and never posted. Anyone want to guess who that might be? Ozzy was also a zero poster (didn’t know he was a whistle fan), as was Rhiannon (remember the song that Fleetwood Mac did about her?). A certain Mrs. Trout falls into this category, and I wonder if she might be the wife of fife maker Larry.
Finally, I noticed that folks with the prominent sounding handles of Whistler, Chiff and Uilleannator have all registered and never posted! Come on! Especially Chiff!
Oh well, another night with too much coffee and not enough to do.
