Hi Ron and all how about starting up a session at a local coffeehouse (Stellas in South Denver) for example. That’s almost halfway between your home and mine, Ron. We could do that instead of or in addition to the rotating home thing.
Let me know what you guys think. If it’s a goer, I’d be happy to try to set it up, there anyway. If you can think of a more suitable place let me know that, too.
Actually, I was refering to the one on “Old South PearlStreet” 1476 S. Pearl. I haven’t heard of the one on Colfax. What’s the exact adress? I’ll try and check it out, Ron
Sorry I missed GJ games/festival? Looked like phun. I tried to get “Skean Dubh” booked there at one time.
Ok,that one’s new too me. But I’ll look into the Stella’s Coffeehouse on South Pearl, first.
Do we have enough folks who would want to play there with us? Probably need atleast another 4 or 5 . C’mon you guys let us know.
I dunno Monday or Thursday nights would be best for me. It could be a once a month thing.
I drove by Stella Buz last night and they had a, “Business for Sale” sign on the door. And It said it was it was closed for the summer, too. I still need to run it by the other Stella’s first.
More later, Phiz
Yeah, Monday nights are good. I’ll give Stella’s a call tomorrow. Maybe if we broaden it to include Celtic nations’ folksongs and ballads we’ll get more local people, too. Does Monday work for your lads?
I’m mostly committed to the learning session I lead here in Greeley but I might be able to make it down sometime… Monday is my day off so it’s one of the better evening for me if I’m around…
We’ll Stella’s is into having it there. Monday nights are fine. I’ll just need to work out the logistics. Like, how to title it. We need to include singing of Celtic ballads and folksongs as well as session tunes. There was one down in the springs that was similar. I’ll see how they worded it. Hope we can get the “Keltic Razors” and Graham to attend as well!
Ok, I’ll keep the ball rolling. More later,Phizillip

Why would you want to start another session in Denver? There are sessions Downtown Denver at Fado’s on Sunday and Monday and once a month at the Celtic Tavern. Darcy’s in the Denver Tech center has two sessions a month. Colorado Springs has two sessions a week, and Boulder has one on Sundays. It’s interesting that there seems to be many musicians that are “lurking” around the message boards but don’t show up to the sessions either to play or watch and learn!
Could be cause the time and place of existing sessions aren’t conveinent, could be cause an existing session might be a bit to fast, could just be a carefully crafted plan to make Denver the session capital of the USA
Hi all:
I’d be interested in attending a new session. I mostly lurk here on c&f, and very sporadically show up at Denver area sessions. Monday nights and Stella’s would work great for me.
David
I would like this one to be a little different. Making sure that all Celtic Styles and levels of experience are welcome. Playing Celtic folksongs and ballads as well as “tunes”. This might put some players off,(or not) but like Kramer says, there are plenty around here to attend.
Thanks Dave, hope to see you there. I’ll post more details soon.
Phiz
