Pretty accurate for being in a folk band in Houston, too.
I think that, on the whole this article is very well done. I do however, disagree with the absoluteness of the “Recruiting Members” chapter. Much of what is said is very true, but I feel the way it is written leads the reader to the conclusion that this is the only way it’s done. For example, my band pulled members from across all genres of music. We have training in classical music, blues, jazz, and rock. We pull together very well as an Irish band, and I think that our other experiences help us come up with new ideas.
Again, on the whole I really do like this article, all I’m saying is take it with a grain of salt.

thats an awesome site. I live in Tucson, Arizona, and I would love to someday be in a pogues or flogging molly-esque band. anybody else here from arizona besides me?

Well, I currently live in Arizona (Chandler). True Arizona natives are pretty uncommon.
