Star Trek

I am looking for the sheet music to Captian Picard’s Air. The song that he likes to play on his tin whistle.

'Tis at http://digilander.iol.it/albertosozzi/Web/Star%20Trek/Web%20Air_from%20STNG.htm

Good Lord, I was just running a search on Google for the very same thing!

You know, for years I have loved that little tune, but didn’t even know what it was he was playing!

Now, does anyone know where I can download the whole episode? I know you can download entire movies off the web…why not this particular episode?

Kim

Whither might one download entire movies?

My brother downloads them off a place called “Limewire”. I don’t know much about it. I think it’s a mac deal.

Maybe I’ll get him to search Limewire!

I couldn’t get the link to work, even after downloading the plugin…

Kim - There is an email link for me at the end of this post. Email me and I will take a screen shot of the music and email it to you.

Whither might you upload, perhaps. Methinks you mean whence, sirrah! (Or perchance, wherefore?)

Alas! thou hast caught my grammatical error. Woe unto me.

Thanks Beth!

Email is on its way, Kim.

For the rest of you, I might as well just post a link now that I have the shot made.

Thank you so very much! I saved it as a jpeg and already mailed it to another newbie!

If you folks REALLY want to download such stuff as movies, you need to embrace the darkside of media piracy.

Now I’ve never done this stuff myself, but you need to join a newsgroup service and check out the groups that have “warez” in their title. If you are not entirely a propeller-head, then just search on the word “warez” on the internet. Be prepared, because most of the sites that deal in movies also deal in pornography.

A little bird told me about all this.

Thanks to whoever did that screenshot of the score. I am playing at a wedding ( see wedding music thread) and the bride and groom are Trek fans, so this might make a good processional for the bride on Irish flute!!

OK, OK, I know this is near sacrilidge on this site, but I’ve never actually watched this Star Trek episode (or most of the other ones either).

What sort of tempo should this be played at?

cheers, Martin

Stately. . .think processional.

Martin, if you have Real player, you can listen to Picard playing it, you can even hear the Enterprise in the background at the end…Listen here:

Hi Kim,

I tried, I must not have Real player. Nuts I say, Nuts.

A Star Shines on the Hour of our Meeting.

Hey Martin, send me a private message to remind me. When I get home tonight (might have to wait till tomorrow if it’s too late) I will make a mp3 of it for you. I’ve known that song since I was 13, from learning it by ear off the show. =) Then I wrote it down in pencil on the piano keys so I wouldn’t forget the sequence grin

(Pencil works exceptionally well on piano keys except you have to be at an angle to see the writing on the black keys!)

Edit - whoops, this is a different version that what I know. I can do the first two lines but am stumbling over the next bit.

You can get the player for free at http://www.real.com, but maybe you’re at work? My husband can’t download anything off the net at work.
