So, anyone getting butterflies in the stomach about tomorrow? I’ll be going back and forth between two bars playing and collecting tips like trick or treat. It’s a long night, but usually turns out okay. I’ve been doing this a long time, but I just dread it for a month before hand. The butterflies get drowned in Guiness! A French-Canadian playing Scottish pipes for Polish people drinking green beer in a sports bar pretending that they’re Irish. What a country! ![]()
I have got my bottle of Pepto’dismal’ ready and waiting for the morning of the 18th. Bring it on!!
Yep, the St. Patrick’s stress starts tonight for me…
Played three gigs the past weekend, tonight is the weekly session I host, tomorrow, a couple of gigs, one being our huge “ShamROCK” street fair. Thankfully, I’m only playing whistle and flute for that one, don’t have to drag my pipes outside…

It might not work for everyone, but a quick drink about 10-15 minutes before quiets the jitters for me every time. Of course, you know what that might lead to…

Debbie Quigley and Ena O’Brien will be part of the half-time show for the Utah - Toronto NBA game on Wednesday night. Talk about pressure - only a few million people watching.

Could be worse. You could be in Flint.

There’s no such place, I’ve been there. I spent two weeks there one night.
It’s a nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t.

Well, it’s over. And not so bad a day as I let my nerves tell me it was going to be. $585.00 for the day. A bit slow this year, but a new tip tart as well. I feel good afterward and not half so tired as usual. Thank God for the cannister bag.

Happy ST. Cyril’s Day! The patron saint of resting pipers.
