The tune starts out - role on g, role on b, role on G and then goes to another G. I’ve been playing the last role and then tapping to the next G, but I’m wondering if it really shouldn’t be a cut to the B. Any thoughts on that? I remember that someone else was working on it? Was it Brian?

But I think I see what you guys are doing. When I role on G I do this:
XXX000
X0X000 cut
XXX000
XXXX00 tap
XXX000
So when I cut, the B (actually Bb-ish) is more natural for me and also creates more tonal space between the base note and the cut-to note.
Is this a bad way to play the roll? I’m open for critique (I always am actually, said in his best announcer’s voice: “I am a human dartboard.”)

Lol, yeah, I forget that I think backwards with the whistle. But you seem to get the idea. After playing a few your way, I don’t see any problem with cutting on b instead of a. It’s a very slightly different sound, but not a bad one in my opinion.
For what it’s worth, in slowing down Joanie Madden’s version of Legacy Jig she also cuts her g,G rolls with a b,B and follow the third roll with a cut to B. What a great workout this beginning section is for the upper hand! The jig is a real gem! I especially like the way she slides into the second section but I’m usually out of breath at this point and haven’t quite mastered the breathing problem.
