South Wales Tionól 2011

Just an early, early reminder to keep your diaries free for 3rd September 2011. For this year’s tionól we have Mick O’Brien and Alan Burton taking the piping classes and there’s a fiddle class with Emma Sweeney. More details to follow…

Already in my diary!

For those within travelling distance, this is well worth the effort.

There will be a venue change for the Tionól but NOT for the concert due to factors outside our control. The new location will be St.Dunstan’s Church , Ferndale which is approximately a mile up the road from the previous location. As this church is bigger and on two levels the Advanced class is now uncapped , infact the more the merrier  The class timings are the same but the concert will still be held at Holy Trinity church , Tylorstown. Cheers Mei

Bumpety Bump ! Not long now folks

The madness is almost upon us , really looking forward to this. Numbers ever increasing. Getting better by the minute , looking forward to it

I just want to be the first to thank Mei and the other members of the South Wales Pipers’ Club for organising another brilliant tionol this past weekend.

This was my third year attending, and for me it was the best yet. Great turn out of pipers, and nice to see so many familiar faces again from previous years. Great classes from Mick, Alan and Emma. And some fantastic sessions on the Friday and Saturday nights. Congratulations and thanks to the organisers for a job well done!

I’m looking forward to next year already, but will be back to South Wales for a few tunes again well before that.
