Sound file: Hoover vs. Laughing Whistle

Hey guys -

I used to ask people for this, and now I can provide one: Here’s a comparison sound file for you people who would like to compare a Hoover regular bore to a Laughing collapsible whistle, both in high D. The tune is “Boys of Bluehill”, the version on the BBC Virtual session. I’m still working on my rhythm, sorry about that in advance. :slight_smile:

The Hoover is first on the file. There is a sort of buzzing in the hoover high notes, I think this was due to the compression for mp3, and stupidly I didn’t save a copy in wav. Oh well.

Oh I found the store I was looking for, and got a tiny little bird ocarina from Peru and a set of double pan pipes (Zamponia?) from Bolivia. Cool store!
