Something new from the shop....

Hi all-- I just finished making a tabor pipe for a previous customer in Germany ( he also bought a SECOND whistle, in Olivewood!).
Basically, the tabor pipe involved nothing more than leaving off the top 3 holes of the whistle, and rotating the remaining top hole to the back. I also voiced it a bit differently to favor the higher register and the overtone register needed to play a complete scale. I’m no expert on tabor pipe, but I was quite happy with the results. May even make one for myself in my “spare time”…

As long as you are experimenting, how about some Busman low whistles? (hint hint)
