Some new (to me) mandolin stuff...

I’d debated getting a Tone-Gard for my mando for a while but wasn’t sure it would be worth it. Last weekend at the Dance Flurry in Saratoga, I got to hear one in action and came right home and bought one ($75 from Elderly, free shipping).
Dang thing really makes a difference!

I also added a couple of V-Picks to my Elderly order (so no shipping either) on the recommendation of a guitar playing band mate. On the recommendation of Vinny (the V in V-pick) I got the large rounded size/shape which is similar to a Dawg or Golden gate.
These are TERRIFIC picks. They’re clear acrylic which does not slip in your fingers at all. They make colors too, including glow-in-the-dark, which I may have to splurge on sometime soon  .
At something like $7.50 for a pack of two, they’re not bargain basement, but they’re a LOT cheaper than those $35 picks and I can’t imagine anything a lot better. Take a peek:

What’s the length in mm of the picks you’re using?
Oh yeah, you may remember me talking about the Red Henry bridge recently. I just got my mando back from the guy that made one for me, and it’s definitely an improvement!

It’s about 29mm. Glad you like the new bridge. I think it looks terrific too.
