Is there any chance that you would consider a ban on posts from pipeman? Does “freedom of speech” take precedence over the suppression of “hate speech” or potential slander?
I just spent an hour reviewing the posts of this forum member, and found not one single useful bit of information or even a helpful opinion. I for one am finished reading his bile.
If you feel you can’t enforce some level of civility on the forum, I will have to be a great deal more selective about the posts I view, and that seems to me a shame.
Pipeman is the classic definition of a listserv troll, and their oughta be a law against this sort of behavior.

It is, usually.
Most ISPs have an Acceptable Use Policy (don’t send spam, etc). Most have some sort of ban on abusive messaging. This is most commonly versed in Usenet language, and bans are most historicaly commonly due to Usenet abuse, but most are worded with regard to any messaging medium.
They do require evidence to be assembled, with full details, they need to be slightly more than just abrasive in nature, and you do have to be persistent to get the ISP to deal with it. But it can work.
