It’s time for some more silliness. Here is one popular subject disguised as another slightly less popular one.

RED OCARINA FREAK BORE FAST RAT!

What’s the answer? Present or past tense acceptable. Neither true, mind you.

First correct reply wins two all-expenses-paid nights in a Lahinch B&B with the answer to this one:

DEAL NAVY LIPS

But you have to supply the answer the second one too.

Easy…since there are likely many possible answers. My answers are:

a fair recorder stank for a beat

– AND –

davy spillane

The second is of course correct Raymond. The first also works and is very amusing!

But it’s not what I was thinking of. Far too tame. And actually it doesn’t quite satisfy the “present or past tense” requirement, because “stank” is in the past, and the verb cannot be changed into the present without affecting the rest of the sentence… True, you could get “stink” by borrowing the “i” from “fair”, but then you’d have an orphan “a”.

So sorry, a fine effort, but no dirty weekend in Lahinch for you.

Here’s a clue - dead giveaway: if you think recorders are a popular subject, well they pale into insignificance beside this one!

Sounds like backpedaling to me…

Not at all dear boy.

IS FREAK ANDREA CORR A FAT BOAR? (I’m left with an E)but it’s got to be close.

DAVY SPILLANE

Getting closer - getting very close! Mine is actually less insulting than this though… and again, if you get it right, you’ll be able to swap the verb in and out of the present tense.

Also, no words in the original and the scrambled version are the same. You have freak in both. Keep trying…

PS You’ve also disqualified yourself because you have lost an “e” and used an extra “a”… if you had “a fat BORE” you would be slightly less insulting, but you’d still have dropped a “t”.

But what you lack in precision you make up for with mirth!

“I ate Andrea Corr for breakfast” -or- “I eat Andrea Corr for breakfast”
“DAVY SPILLANE”

My wife figured this one out (needless to say her impression of whistlers continues to dwindle)

PS…does the prize include airfare?

Well since she figured it out, she wins the weekend. Maybe her impressions will dwindle still further, I don’t know. Good work. And good night.

DOGGONIT
I couldn’t figure out where the K went.

I bet Ms Corr tasts better than Special K!

“I ate Andrea Corr for breakfast” -or- “I eat Andrea Corr for breakfast”

In your dreams.

What’s second prize? Four nights in a Lahinch B&B?

And third prize a week in a mobile home in beautiful downtown Fanore?

Fourth prize a life-long lease on a flat in Ballyfermot?

Bloomfield - Would that be an E flat or a B flat?
