time to let go one of my few remaining high-enders. This is a magnificent Overton Mezzo B whistle, made by Colin Goldie in 2002. B is a key particularly popular with pipers, and it plays well in B and E. This model has rather large holes and therefore produces a big, complex sound with astounding possibilities for tone and volume (!) modulation. The low notes are rock solid, tuning is spot on - well, it’s a hand made Overton, what more can I say? Confident playing recommended. I have recorded some noodling here: http://www.ceol-music.de/sounds/overton.mp3
These whistles cost new 158 Euros plus shipping. As you can see, the whistle has some minor playing marks, but no dents or serious scratches. I want 100 plus shipping obo. If interested, contact me via email. Thanks.
Hey Christian, that’s got a lovely tone on the slow piece-and well played too! What a lonesome sound the air has on the B! Yet, the jig sounds happy and lively-go figure!
I wish I played the higher whistles, and would love it for that tone on airs, but I don’t pick up the higher whistles much. Someone’s going to get a nice one here!
Yes, I skipped the high B on the air - the mic level would have caused distortion. Thanks for your comments - the whistle is still available - I reduce the price to 95 Euros including shipping worldwide.
