Sold::FS--Jessie's Incredibly Good Sweet

SOLD

I bought this flute from Jessie from her house financing sale because I just really wanted to try it. She wrote:

“Sweet Incredibly Good D Flute: I wrote about this flute on forum about 5 years ago. I got it second hand and one couldn’t guess how well it plays by looking at it. It’s full of knotholes and filled-in cracks. I think Ralph was having fun when he made this. It plays incredibly well, and easily. Competition for a Burns Folk Flute. $240.”

You can see its picture on Jessie’s thread, http://chiffboard.mati.ca/viewtopic.php?t=59098

She’s right: it is an excellent Sweet in terms of tone, playability and intonation, and I’ve tried many. The wood (probably cherry) actually has a very interesting character with the knots and filled in cracks (which are more visual than anything structural; the cracks are part of the original wood, not cracks that came later as far as I can tell). What she did not say was that it has a beautiful sheen to it and the grain is quite striking.

I’ve decided to sell it because I’m concentrating on having just one main flute (Hammy) and a really inexpensive backup (my resuscitated old Lark flute). This flute should be with someone maybe just starting out or someone looking for their first wood flute or someone wanting a good backup or…well, someone who will play it more often than I will.

I’d like $240 for it, plus $5 insured shipping. I can take USPS money order or PayPal.

PM if interested.

Thanks.

Jason

I have a cherry D sweetheart flute and it’s quite good.
Like, definitely good.
These are simple and they play well, they’re all-wood.
I play it a lot. All-wood flutes are a Good Thing.

this one is probably a good deal better than mine.

I almost went for that flute.

I really like Sweetheart flutes, and it’s not uncommon for them to have interesting irregularities, but nothing of any trouble, ever.

And, that particular flute appears to be an irregular deluxe!

It’s tempting, very tempting.
