A superb flute. I have the same model in Granadillo and I love it. This one looks pretty in boxwood.
Regards,
S.
I got to play a blackwood Watson (6 key) recently.
Very nice flute. I was surprised at how light it was, I can hardly imagine the same flute in boxwood.
Normally not a great boxwood fan I agree the flute looks pretty! Is it stained boxwood?
Jeroen, i really like your take on the Carolan piece.
Beautiful flute. What method does he use to make it look so aged? The boxwood looks like it’s 200 years old, gorgeous.
My Murray’s basically that color (under Lord knows how many years of grunge and wear, the poor thing); IIRC, Sam uses nitric acid. Not sure if that’s the same as “fuming” or not, but I’ve also heard of some people “fuming” boxwood.
That is a gorgeous instrument. Good luck and “I’m so sorry” to the seller. ![]()
Tough times, these.
