Let’s see. I have several magnets on my fridge. There is one of my cousin who is a realtor. There’s one my niece gave me for Junior Achievement, and a JA magnet picture frame with a picture of her dog in it. A magnet to our local vet, with a picture of a dog I once had in it. Magnet’s to an Urgent Care Center, the Florida Scrub-Jay Trail, the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, and the Rinker Employee Assistance place. There’s also an old decal I pulled out of a Corn Flakes box of Jimmie Johnson ( #48 ).

Anyone else care to share? :poke:

A "Titanic "magnet, recently bought in Belfast, some Power Ranger and Ninja mutant turtle ones from when my son was a lot younger and on top..my keys.

About 30 little airline bottles and a big bottle of Glenlivet.

My father used to keep the occasional gentleman’s magazine in top of the icebox, which in 4th grade was a spectacular find, even in 1959.

right this second? Hmmm…a few kiddie pictures that my wee ones colored for me. Magnets, obviously, to hold said pictures up (couple of religious type ones, but mostly just regular ones. Oh! And a Guinness one). And on top…besides dust, I have no idea. Scary thought in of itself :laughing:

the "not currently in use magnets are on the right side (as you look at it) of the fridge. These consist of everything from old sport schedules, real estate sellers, political, etc - to several of those clip kinds.

On the front of the fridge:

  • a pad of paper for the grocery list
  • the title to Nate’s truck (I still need to get the plates for it)
  • Noah’s geometry and history home work list for the month (I love organized teachers)
  • the phone number for the orthodontist (Noah is in full “rail road tracks”)
  • our tickets for the Moody Blues concert that’s happening this Saturday!!!

On the left side:

  • a calendar
  • a small white board

Magnets holding all manner of creased, curled papers: menu/coupons for a couple of pizza delivery companies, a paper with a concerned looking professional woman with a caption: “Would you know if you were having a heart attack?” (Now, I realize why that one’s there.) A list of what fruits and vegetables are better refrigerated or left at room temp. Kids drawings by my daughter who’s now 17. The Beatitutes. A magnet with a pizza delivery phone number, an emergency numbers magnet (see the pattern?), a Green Man magnet, a greaseboard for making a grocery list…stuff that’s been there so long I’m numb to them…

For those of you who haven’t been to my mom’s house: millions of souvenier magnets from everywhere she’s ever visited alongside multitudes of religious magnets. You only put papers and reminders on the side of the fridge,not the front.

The spookiest thing just happened. I read through this thread, then went to check my email, and I found that I have a piece of spam from “House of Magnets”, advertising “2006 Magnetic Calendars”! :astonished:

I’m sure this means that I am destined to do something important with refrigerator magnets. How else could such a coincidence be explained? :boggle:

On the top of my frig I keep my baseball hat collection in a produce cardboard box with colorful pictures of veggies on the sides. Also there is an air humidifier and two soup pots.

I used to make magnetic bracelets, so I would buy a thousand ceramic magnets at a time. When I stopped making the bracelets, I still have about 800 strong magnets, some of which hold up photos on the front of my frig. I keep that rest of the magnets under my computer table to help give my computer a little extra boost.

We did had 6 kids and at least that many strays around when we got it. :laughing:

Religious magnets are miniture versions of paintings or icons of Jesus, Mary, etc. I’m thinking they come in the mail with requests for donations to various charities, monasteries, etc.

Let’s see,

top - a dusty bag full of cough drops from… ummm… 2003… (lofted to trash, thanks!) a pair of less-than-steller-brightness flashlights, two bags of chips as yet unopened (just bought today), several coffee mugs and two glasses, still in use (up there so the ever evasive but often overzealous dishwasher won’t put them into the machine too soon), a large bottle of bubbles, an old wipes box recycled as a repository for batteries and scizzors, and a Christmas Cactus… oh, and a very large and tacky souvenier cup from the zoo (too large to put in the cabinet, and too expensive to just throw out) …

front - a wide variety of magnets (from word game stuff to picture frame type, to cutesy little resin bears, glow in the dark skulls, and googly eyeballs, as well as dull old grey just plain magnet-y magnets) holding a variety of photos (old pics of our kids and nieces and nephews) and drawings, receipts, and reminders (long forgotten)…

counter side - another wide variety of magnets, including a very lifelike miniature appatasaurus, a large round plastic covered disc magnet with a bunch of little bitty metal stars and moons for stacking and stretching, some more old photos of family (seen only in photos, not in recent years face to face), baby announcements, and more drawings, painings and little quotes…

entry door side - yet more varied magnets, receipts, coupons and photos… but only from the mid point in height up, as the lower portion is blocked by the hat and glove basket, and the two pair boot landing beneath that.

And… on the inside edge of the lower door is taped a plastic milk bottle lid, in order to raise the impact point of the little switch that is supposed to turn off the interior light when you close the door.

Not to mention assorted small spots and splashes from whatever most recently got splooshed or splashed in that general area.

Happily there is no longer any room for anything literally ON my fridge. Our new kitchen cabinets were made as deep as the thing just so I could not set anything ON the fridge.

Otherwise the side has a cartoon I clipped out of the paper many years ago and it is very appropriate for this season. I tried to find it online but my description will have to do-

Two worried looking bird hunters are surrounded by small birds circling them on the ground. The small birds are wearing black hooded cassock type garments. The caption reads- Ernie and Doug stumble upon a coven of quail.
