So excited...I've found a session!

Nope. None of us are here. And this is the first I’ve heard of a Cupertino slow session. How did you find that, Dana?

I think it’s on the link I posted in my original post: http://www.folkplanet.com/cce/ceili.html

I’ve cleared up the idea of a February or March San Jose get-together get-together with She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed (yes, I am an H. Rider Haggard fan  ) - I’ll post a thread about it later today.

We’ll try to come up with a date that will work for the most people. It should be more convenient for the South Bay folks, but I’m hoping that at least some of the SF-and-north contingent will be able to make it. If nothing else, we need some skilled players - the best I’d dare claim is “pretty decent for a beginner”.

Kysh, you may have ran into my #1 daughter, yesterday - short, buxum, and bouncy/hyperactive girl with olive skin and black hair, wearing Winnie-the-Pooh overalls, a red jacket, and cat ears.

And Blackhawk, I did get it from Redwolf’s link. I should call and see if next month’s is on, since it would conflict with the tional.

The session today was great fun! I only knew a few tunes on their list (and Mike can tell you that I missed about every other note!), but I had a gas! This is going to greatly improve my playing, that’s for sure!

Turns out there’s an Irish language group that meets in the area too. That is just so cool! I’m hoping to hook up with them.

I was hoping you’d post about how it went, Redwolf. I’m glad that you had such a great time. Your positive experience is making me think that maybe I should seek one out as well. Is your session weekly? I’m assuming that you are going to make it a habit

No…monthly, I’m afraid (which is probably just as well, as I need the practice time!).

The session was great fun, especially on the fourth rep of a tune when we took off on it. I’m really looking foward to the one at Britannia Arms next month, should be a blast!

Oh yeah! Audrey, here’s the link to the Virtual Session, it helped prepare me quite a bit for yesterday.

You have to have flash for it to work, but it’s a great learning tool.

Cheers,
Mike

Many thanks! I’ll check it out. I think just learning off enough of the tunes to play them without trying to read will help too…sightreading is not my strongest skill, by any means.
