Several days ago it snowed in Dallas Texas. That is around three times in the last five years. Predictions are it will reach Houston, and Santa Fe, Texas by Friday. That is more snow than we have had in fifty years. Ya’ll know what I have to say to Al Gore…

A few days ago our local paper printed an article (from Associated Press, I’m pretty sure) that listed a number of cities in the US and the probability of having a “white Christmas,” defined as having at least one inch of snow on the ground the morning of Dec.25. I don’t have the article in front of me but Google is my friend, and revealed many sites such as this one, based on data from 1988 - 2005:

Of all the cities listed in the US, my own home sweet home is the only one that scored 100%. (I feel like we aced the quiz. 
) However, there is a short list of Canadian cities, and several scored 100%: Sudbury, Quebec City, Whitehorse, and Yellowknife. It does note that in 2006 Quebec City had its first “green” Christmas in recorded history, so if the data were updated, QC would be booted out of the 100% club.
I lived in southern California for 3 years and the lack of winter was odd and unpleasant for me. Warm weather (meaning temps at which water reverts to a liquid state) in December should be reserved for exotic vacation locations, not for places where normal people live.

Far be it from me to break the poli rules here. You could check out the Amazing Forum under Crickets, or just Google ClimateGate and you learn much, no thanks to most major media in this country.
And yes, we had the coldest November I can remember in years. We usually don’t get frozen mornings till mid-December but we’ve already had a few here. Our summer was mostly colder (including some late rain in June) with several hot spells. Though the immediate Bay Area is at 100% of normal due to a heavy storm earlier this fall, much of Calif is still dry and cold.
I seriously wonder what climate manipulation by the Chinese might be doing to the jet stream and other complex processes, because they are openly trying to cause precipitation in a certain province. Being on the West Coast can make one feel vulnerable to what transpires across the oceans.
Thanks for the suggestion. I also get much information about the climate, weather, and academy awards on Fox news.
