Scotland goes smoke free at 6am tomorrow.I am so delighted.I used to get smokers hangover in the morning after playing in this atmosphere. That will be a thing of the past.To celebrate I think I will buy a new reed for my pipes and it too will be smoke free.ye should see the colour of my old one..black…nasty.Well done Caledonia sense at last
Chicago goes smoke free in 2 years and about 4 months.
Hopefully by then my fiddle playing skills will be good enough to celebrate at a seisiun.
The rest of Cook County goes smoke free in a couple months. If my fiddle playing skills progress as fast as my ambition I might find myself moving out of Chicago to the suburbs.
djm, I take it you are trying not to smoke? If that is the case, good luck. It will be so great if you can hang on there. I haven’t gotten there yet, but I sure hope you do!!!
Okay, back to the original topic. Which is: Scotland goes smoke free at 6am tomorrow.
Hooray! This should make it much easier to quit as last time I tried the descent back into smoking started in the pub with friends who smoked.
It’s going to be interesting to see how well this works. I’ll find out on Tuesday I suppose when I go to watch the champions league game in the pub.
I’ll be sending encouraging thoughts your way, djm. I have to say, though, that Annie’s Mojo is some good stuff . . . and I suspect she’s cooking up some for you!
Hurrah for Scotland, it must be lovely to be able to go into a pub and see the far wall, and what a shame we sassenachs are last out of the starting gates as usual.
David hang in there…1st 3 months are the worse.after that ye should be on a roll..I stopped about 10years ago and never looked back..Good luck sincerely.
Annie are ye septed to the MacIntosh then ?

You can do it… like I said, just look at it a little bitty chunk at a time until you lose track of the little chunks and realize you’ve gone a big chunk… it does get easier… and hey… bald can be a nice look…
