Small town, big show

I’m director of publicity for the Thomaston-Upson Arts Council (TUAC), a non-profit organization in a tiny little town in west central Georgia, about an hour and a half southwest of Atlanta. Our budget for performances and for publicity is commensurate with the size of the town.

Fortunately, our ambitions far exceed our budget. We’re delighted to be hosting Cherish the Ladies in our historic R. E. Lee Auditorium on Saturday, November 16.

Yes, tickets are still available, for all types willing to spend $12.

The moniker is one I adopted some time ago in a series of events unrelated to this show, but what a strange coincidence. I hadn’t even noticed the parallel. Thanks for pointing it out.

Anyone who hasn’t already seen the Ladies: GO to this one if you’re anywhere within a hundred miles of it. Heck, at the low price, I’m tempted to take a plane from Albny NY to go. They put on one heckuva show, and are as nice and friendly as can be.

I agree. Great show, great music, and great fun. And half (or less) of the ticket prices anywhere else that you’ll see them.

I had no idea there was such an active whistle community out there.

Back when I asked if Sam was going to make it to the Stone Mountain Games, her reply was ‘no car’. So that might still be an excuse.

OTOH, Georgia ain’t THAT big. If she started walking now…

I’m 3 hours away and I have no car or other means of transportation (no none of my “friends” here at school will drive me that far.)
