What exactly is “small bore” and how does it effect the playing or sound?
Narrow bore (small bore) refers to the inner diameter of the instrument sound tube. Generally, narrow bore instruments are quieter, more pure sounding (less overtones)
And narrow bore whistles usually require less breath pressure… which is helpful in the upper register, but can make the lower register a bit weak.
