I really love the music of the Armenian duduk, but duduks seem to be so expensive. I think some of the songs could be just as pretty using a low whistle. Does anyone happen to know of a resource for Armenian/duduk music that can be played on a whistle? Much thanks.
I agree… it is beautiful and not unsuited for whistle, especially the low ones. I get so caught up in my mission of learning ITM that I neglect my more eclectic tastes. Thanks for the reminder!
I’m assume you are already familiar with L.E. McCullough’s Whistle Around the World. Nothing exactly Armenian duduk, but pieces from Iran and Turkey (and 48 other songs from about the globe). Includes a nice CD.
