slide on D

Hi

I heard recently a tune where there seems to be a slide going from C to high D (D flute of course).
Do you know how make it possible?

Well, if it was a C natural, it’s possible to slide (half-holing) from there to C#, and then overblow somewhat to sharpen THAT before landing on the D… Don’t know otherwise!

Possibly a keyed flute?

I can do a slide from C to D on my Boehm flute by using the C/C# on the foot. (My keyed wooden flute is only six keys)

Depending on the flute, some allow for the C-nat to be fingered (with adequate lipping for tuning) as:
O X X X O X

Going from there with RH2 as the sliding finger into D, you can see where it’s possible.
