Hi. I’ve read through a few postings from the archives, but I wondered what people’s current thoughts on Silver Copelands are (specifically the high D). ???
Better sounding/playing than the brass or nickel?
So many whistles and just one tax return…

FWIW, I like my 12+ yr. old nickle much better than my sterling silver one. Much nicer sweeter tone.

has anyone played the phosphor bronze Copleland JessieK. had/has (not sure if she sold it) up for sale?
I know PETRUS has, but don’t remember hir commenting on it…

I liked very well the silver d I played, better
than my nickel, which I also like very well.
Robust but silky sound.

I have both a brass as well as nickel Copeland high-D. When I’ve tried the sterling high-Ds at the NAMM show, I’d say that they were very close to my brass D, and somewhat lighter in weight. Hard to say without having them all in one place at one time, but I really enjoyed playing them.
