Silicon grease

Does anyone know of a source for silicon grease? I went to the local music store and got the “is your recorder stuck?” response..and when I mentioned whistles, came the deer in the headlight look,so I explained what a whistle was…then just gave up. So,any ideas?

You can also find it in scientific supply houses, like VWR or Thomas. Both have on-line catalogs. Look for something like stopcock grease.

I get my silicone grease at the plumbing section in Lowe’s.

I know you can get silicone grease in a spray form at auto supply shops and as Stonewall says, plumming supplies use it too.

Why not just use Vaseline as a substitute? It won’t harden like cork wax and will not rust metal or damage cork seals.

Hi!
You should be able to find silicon and teflon grease (tube and spray can) at any bike shop.

Thanx to all…found some at the local scuba shop. A tip o’the hat to Tony for the link and idea. BTW Dixon Recommends silicon grease for his tunables..
