Well, I’m suggesting a trial of Safari on a Mac, not on a PC, and there is a difference. That is, try a Mac, and see the difference for yourself.
Strange turn of phrase. I guess you mean that they were both developed for unix variations (linux and Mac OS) then taken to windows. Though I’m not convinced in the firefox case, as far as I’m aware the windows version was developed at the same time as the linux version.
Out of the two I’d say Firefox is a much, much better browser. In fact I’d place Safari 3rd behind IE (possibly 4th, I haven’t used Opera for a while).
YMMV. By all means try it - it works fine on Macs. But on my PC running XP, it crashes on the second page. Every time.
Incidentally, the licence agreement says that you must NOT install this on a windows machine. Somebody didn’t do their homework. Egg on Face, Mac Dudes!
You probably have IE running secretly on your computer, screwing firefox up. You need a virus check. Even when Firefox messes up, it is still solvable, without reams of useless information from Microsloth.
My sentiments exactly. It was sort of handy in that my old SBC browser (modified IE), kept that stuff with my SBC account. When I switched computers I was able to keep all my favorites that I’d forgotten to backup on the old PC.
However, I prefer to keep them myself. I’ll search the vast help file and see what I find out.
