Short travel article-- music in Ireland

I was doing a little Sunday internet newspaper browsing, and found a short little article:

(excerpt)

“So many musical styles bill themselves as “traditional Irish” that finding authentic music, even in its mother country, requires Sherlock Holmes’s sleuthing skills. We scanned leaflets for clues: traditional instruments such as the Irish harp and uillean (ILL-in) pipes, solo performers, or well-known musicians.”

This is from a recent article in the Christian Science Monitor. Here’s the link.

It occurs to me that you could get an even better guide to finding Irish music in Ireland with a few hours of reading C & F posts! This is for those of us who have yet to go there (myself included).

Thanks! I’m currently planning a trip to Ireland this summer, and that was very helpful.
